Friday evening update: State has seen 537 COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths

On Friday evening, the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) released its updated statistics concerning the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

The LDH reported at 5:30 p.m. that it had seen 537 reported cases of COVID-19, with a total of 14 deaths. There had been a total of 1,084 tests completed by the state laboratory, and another 847 tests reported to the state by commercial labs.

As of Friday evening, there had been 28 different parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19. There had been two reported cases in Washington Parish, but no deaths.

The new report showed some growth in the reported spread of the disease. As of Friday at 9:30 a.m., there had been 479 cases and 10 deaths.
