On Thursday, Feb. 20, Judge William Burris administered the oath of office to the Library Board of Control.

The board members oversee all aspects of the library service and serve as the policy and decision making body for the parish library. The members of the board represent all strata of the social fabric of Washington Parish.

All members collectively represent over 130 years of combined service in their roles in the communities of the parish.

In the coming term, James R. “Jim” Adams will serve as the president of the board, Sally Thomas as the vice president and Emma Ross will serve as treasurer for the 2020 term.

Etta Magee, assistant director, has served in the library for over 25 years and is in charge of technology.
