Brenda Kay Freeman, a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 17, 2020, at her residence in Bogalusa at the age of 66.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gary Freeman of Bogalusa; sons, Gary (Lillie) Freeman Jr. of Bogalusa, and Jonathan “Tiger” (Stephanie) Freeman of Carriere, Miss.; her daughters, Donna Kay (Jr.) King of Enon, Katie (John) Ridgdell of Bogalusa, and Dori Miller (Alton) Hart of Magee, Miss.; 14 grandchildren, Dillon Austin, Amber Warner, Crystal King, Lindsey King, Amanda King, Joshua King, Hannah “Gabby” Freeman, Jazmine Saucier, Cody Saucier, Shawn Saucier, Madisyn Freeman, Shyanne Freeman, Lucas Freeman, and Joshua Freeman; her seven great-grandchildren, Lorianne Saucier, Jake Warner, Bella Brown, La’ Lay Brown, Noah Hopkins, Bradley King and Skylar King; brothers, Melvin Jones of Bogalusa, Elmer Jones of Bogalusa, Bo Jones of Missouri, and Jason Jones of Mississippi; and five sisters, Linda Jones of Mississippi, Virginia Wilmuth of Mississippi, Norma Creel of Mississippi, Loretta Jones of Mississippi, and Josephine Young of Franklinton. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Bonnie Jones; a brother, Sam Bo Jones; and two sisters, Joyce Faye Jones and Betty Ann Blane.

Services celebrating her life will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home & Crematory in Bogalusa. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 20, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
