Brecken Kyle Knight entered the world at 10:48 p.m. on Jan. 7, 2020, weighing 9 pounds, 3 ounces, and measuring 21 inches long.

Parents Emily and Eric Knight were excited to learn that Brecken was Washington Parish’s first baby of 2020. Brecken is the couple’s second child to be birthed at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. Brecken and the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Emory, were both delivered by Dr. Maria Christina Buenaflor.

“We love us some Dr. B,” Emily said.

Brecken also has a big brother, Kolton, who is very excited to have a little brother in the house.

Emily said they knew Brecken would be big, but they were surprised when he weighed in at more than nine pounds. They laughed as they recalled hearing Dr. Buenaflor say, “This is a big kid here!”

As a Nurse Practitioner, Emily explained that she understands the value of exceptional care on a deeper level.

“The team at Our Lady of the Angels offers a different kind of care. There’s a true spirit of caring here, from people we know and trust,” she said.

“This was another excellent experience at Our Lady of the Angels,” Eric added.

Our Lady of the Angels presented Brecken and his family with a New Year baby basket filled with gifts and new baby necessities.
