Pine eighth grader Braeden Arceneaux was fifth in his weight class at a powerlifting meet held last month in Abbeville.
Arceneaux lifted a total of 515 pounds, as he was competing in the 114.5-pound weight class.
Arceneaux’s lifts were 190 in squat, 80 for bench and he had a 245-pound deadlift.
Arceneaux’s next meet will take place on Saturday at Pope John Paul II.
Also competing locally there will be Bogalusa and Varnado.
