A Bogalusa woman was arrested Thursday, after she allegedly broke a 6-year-old child’s nose, according to Bogalusa police.

Bogalusa Police Department officials said that an investigation was recently conducted by the BPD’s criminal investigations division, into reported allegations of child abuse. Officials said that detectives concluded that probable cause existed, and sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Monique Colter-Spikes, 28, on the charge of second-degree cruelty to juveniles. Officials said that the child sustained a broken nose, from blunt force trauma.

Colter-Spikes was arrested without incident, and booked into the Bogalusa City Jail, pending a transfer to the Washington Parish Jail for housing. Colter-Spikes refused to give a statement in the matter, BPD officials said.
