Varnado topped by Pearl River, wins against Mt. Hermon this week

Varnado’s girls basketball posted a 1-1 record this week with a loss to Pearl River on Tuesday and a win over Mt. Hermon School on Thursday.
Tuesday’s road game was a 48-29 setback to Pearl River.
Jalisa Jackson posted 10 points to top Varnado.
Myeasha Peters posted seven points, while Kasia McGowan had four, Javonnie Bickham and Jamonica Dillon recorded three each and Jamaya Bell added two in the win.
Thursday’s game was a 54-37 win over Mt. Hermon on the road, as Dillon had a big night.
Dillon scored 22 points. Dillon made six 3-pointers.
Bickham and Jalisa Jackson recorded 11 each.
McGowan posted six points while Bell had four in the victory.
Sikoya Jackson topped Mt. Hermon with 10 points.
Macey Applegate posted nine points, while Bailey Fortenberry had eight, Ansley Knight posted five and Sydney Tullos had two. Fortenberry made a 3-pointer.
Mt. Hermon will be back in action with a contest against Amite at home Tuesday, while Varnado’s next game will be Monday against South Jones.
