Mt. Hermon unable to win at tourney

Mt. Hermon School’s Lady Jackets were unable to win their contests in the Sumner Basketball Classic that was held Dec. 4-7.
The Lady Jackets were defeated by Independence, 48-32, in their first game of the event last Wednesday.
Macey Applegate and Bailey Fortenberry scored nine points each to lead Mt. Hermon. Applegate made a 3-pointer.
Sydney Tullos posted seven points, while Sikoya Jackson had five and Ansley Knight added two for Mt. Hermon. Tullos made a 3-pointer.
Last Friday, the Lady Jackets lost to Jewel Sumner, 53-21.
Fortenberry topped Mt. Hermon with five points that included a 3-pointer.
Tullos and Knight posted four each, while Applegate and Jackson had three each and Blayke Brinker added two. Applegate made a 3-pointer.
Their final game of the tournament was a 52-23 loss to St. Helena College and Career Academy last Saturday.
Jackson and Katherine Quinn posted five each to lead Mt. Hermon. Both players made a 3-pointer.
Knight had four, while Applegate recorded three and Tullos, Fortenberry and Brooklyn Falgout all added two. Applegate made a 3-pointer.
Mt. Hermon will be back in action on Tuesday when the Lady Jackets host Amite.
