Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Sister Myrtle Davis Love was born on Oct. 18, 1923, in Tylertown, Miss. She is the daughter of the late Jim Davis and Sally Davis. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Simon Love. In this union, four children were born, Glenda Little, Donald Love, Dennis Love, and Melody Jackson.

Sister Myrtle was a devoted and faithful member of Second Baptist Church, where she worked as assistant Sunday School teacher, a member of the mission, and a devoted choir member.

Sister Myrtle enjoyed being a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and she loved to cook. She enjoyed keeping kids and watching her favorite TV show The Price is Right, and reading her Bible.

She will always be remembered for her compassionate and welcoming heart. Not to mention her beautiful smile and sense of humor.

Sister Myrtle leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Donald (Donna) Love of Atlanta, Ga., Glenda (Dana) Little and Melody Love, both of Columbia, Miss., and Dennis Love of Bogalusa; one sister, Rose Mae Davis of Houston, Texas; two brothers, James (Shelia) Davis of Tuscan, and Calvin Davis of Texas; and a host of grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 11 a.m. until noon, followed by the funeral at noon at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrel Self, pastor, and the Rev. Christopher Matthews, eulogist.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements. Sign the guestbook online at crainandsons@bellsouth.net.
