Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Pine High School’s Kiyasha Clark

Pine’s Kiyasha Clark is a three-sport athlete. The junior plays basketball, volleyball and softball.
In basketball, Clark is a post player. In softball, she plays outfield and third base. For volleyball, Clark is a backrow setter.
This season, Clark was an all-district honorable mention player in volleyball. Clark was second-team all-district in softball and was all-district honorable mention in basketball.
“She comes in to work everyday and ready to play, ready to practice. She never has a bad attitude, never talks back. Yes sir this, yes sir that. She hustles,” Pine coach Jaron Edwards said. “She’s our post player and she’s a really athletic girl that can pretty much do everything when she feels comfortable. She just has to work on a few things, but she is very important to this team in where we need to go this year. She’s gotta be here and in the game.”
Edwards said that if Clark is not in the game, they lose a lot on rebounding.

What do you enjoy most about playing your sports?
The environment and just the team bonding.

What do you like best about being a student athlete?
Not going home everyday because I like to go out in sport things. I like when I travel with sports. I get to see other cities and everything.

Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
My mom (Kenasha Cotton) for sure, because she was also a student athlete when she was younger and I just try to aspire to be like her.

Favorite team?
Golden State Warriors.

Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
That it’s a small little town. That it’s not so overbearing. Everybody knows everybody and staying with my family.
