New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union (NOFFCU) recently collected and distributed 50 Thanksgiving meal baskets with the help of the Bogalusa School Board. NOFFCU has an active presence in Bogalusa.

This was brought together by the generosity and compassion of NOFFCU employees who helped collect, pack, and distribute the meal baskets. Each meal basket contained a 15-pound turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cornbread, vegetables, dessert, as well as other items.

“Approximately 17.9 percent of children — that’s 1-in-6 — face food insecurity in Louisiana,” stated Judy DeLucca, CEO of NOFFCU. “It could happen to any one of us. It is a nationwide crisis that has many faces, appearing in urban areas as well as rural communities. It speaks to our core values to help our community neighbors.”

NOFFCU anticipates making this a memorable partnership with the Bogalusa School Board. The positive feedback from the community ensures this will become an annual tradition.
