On Sunday morning, Sept. 15, 2019, Amanda Lou Smith passed away. Amanda Lou Smith was born on March 11, 1951, in Bogalusa, to the late Anderson Brown Sr. and the late Rosie Lee Johnson Brown.
Amanda spent many years living in Rochester, N.Y. She recently returned to the Mitchell City community to be among family and friends.
Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie Lee Johnson Brown and father, Anderson Brown Sr.; two brothers, Alvin C. Brown and Anderson Brown Jr.; and three sisters, Marcelle Smith, Brenda Broussard and Marjorie Jefferson.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a special friend, Jackie Wilson of Bogalusa; three sisters, Clemontine Ratliff of Los Angeles, Calif., Cleta Lee of Rochester, and Nadine Foster of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Calvin Brown of Bogalusa; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be Friday, Sept. 20, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church in Bogalusa, with the Rev. Nolan Robinson, pastor, officiating. The interment will be held at Duffy Cemetery in Bogalusa.
