Freddy Moses

Freddy Moses, 70, of Varnado, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019.
Freddy was born to William Moses and Ora Lee Keys on Aug. 8, 1948. He graduated from Wesley Ray High School in Angie, and graduated from Southern University in New Orleans with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he worked for the State of Louisiana as a Social Worker in the Office of Child Protection Services for over 20 years where he retired.
You could find Freddy singing in church or at events with a voice that was anointed by God. He is most known for singing “My Soul is Anchored in the Lord” and everyone has been blessed by hearing him sing it.
He leaves to mourn: his children, Cabral (Farrah) Moses, Cashanna Moses, and Sherri Fields; his four grandchildren; two brothers; six sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, at New Zion Baptist Church in Angie. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Burial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 1, at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell.
