“In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway is no death” (Proverbs 12:28).
Bobby Jean Galloway was born July 16, 1945, to the late Aretha Elzy. She was raised by the late Roger and JoAnna Galloway. Bobby had one brother, Jerry Galloway of New Orleans; and one sister, Caroly (Leveta) Miller of Bogalusa.
Bobby Galloway went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Bobby lived and enjoyed life. She was a loving and caring person. Bobby Jean was never much for a lot of talking, but she would always uplift anyone she came across and put a smile on their face. She was all about family. She loved her sister Carolyn. They were inseparable. Bobby and Carolyn had a love like Naomi and Ruth in the Bible. When you saw one, you saw the other. Bobby’s niece LaNita Miller loved her as she loves her own mother. LaNita made sure that her aunt was taken care of. Bobby didn’t have children, but she felt as though she did through the love of her nieces and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Aretha Elzy and the parents that raised her, Roger and JoAnna Galloway; one brother, Jerry Galloway of New Orleans; and a great-nephew, Damien Miller of Bogalusa.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted sister, Carolyn (Leveta) Miller of Bogalusa; four nieces, Christie Miller, LaNita Miller, LaWanda (Albert) Jones and Carol Miller all of Bogalusa; one nephew, Joel (Kimberly) Miller Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Joel Miller Sr. of Bogalusa; special friends, Burnell (Mickey) Peters and Phyllis Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Visitation was at Crain and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, June 3, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Funeral services were at St. John Temple Church of God and Christ, 1126 N. Roosevelt St. in Bogalusa, on Tuesday, June 4, at 2 p.m.
