Bogalusa Rebirth will be hosting its third annual Housing Resource Fair this month. The free event will be held in the fellowship hall of Superior Avenue Baptist Church on Saturday, June 22, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
June is National Home Ownership month and current and future homeowners will take center stage as we recognize how homeownership can contribute to a thriving community that we call home. Each year, Bogalusa Rebirth, a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), hosts the event and marks the importance of owning a home and the impact that it has on the lives of American families and local neighborhoods.
The event will again bring partners from all over the state under one roof to bring housing resources to the fingertips of our residents. Whether you own your home already, need to make repairs, or if you want to learn how to build wealth through home ownership, please make plans to attend. Attendees will receive information on how to apply for upcoming local affordable housing opportunities such as newly constructed, subsidized, single family homes that are being made available to families who meet low-to-moderate income and credit qualifications.
Those eligible include Veterans, the elderly, and the disabled. At the Housing Resource Fair, you will be able to learn about “everything housing,” including:
- How to obtain a clear title on heir property,
- First-time Home Buyer programs,
- Community Lenders who offer loan products,
- Owner Occupied Home Repair Programs,
- Veterans Home Loans,
- Loan programs for low-to-moderate income families,
- Find a Realtor to assist you with finding your dream home.
Partners who have responded that they will be in attendance include: the Louisiana Housing Corporation, USDA Rural Development, Hancock Whitney Bank, Louisiana Appleseed, Southeast Legal Services Attorney, New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union, Gerald Real Estate, The First Bank, Latter & Blum Classic Homes & Properties, and Keller Williams Realty.
