Mrs. Sydney Hayman Wheat of Martin, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at her home.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin, and had served as director for numerous Methodist churches in the surrounding areas. She was born in Bogalusa.

Sydney is survived by two daughters, Cindy Ferguson (Scott) of South Fulton, Tenn., and Kathy Vowell (Richard) of Martin; a son, Joe Allen Wheat (Valorie) of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Hayman Cutrer of Covington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carley Eugene Hayman and Hazel Jordan Hayman.

Per Mrs. Wheat’s wishes, there will be no services held. Hornbeak Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
