Franklinton High School’s Bailey Spears

Franklinton’s Bailey Spears is a senior for the Lady Demons.
Spears is a four-year starter and plays several positions for the school’s softball team.
Spears has been second-team all-district player three times with two being for utility and one for outfield.
“She has been a four-year starter for me,” Franklinton coach Leslie McGhee said. “Like she said, she’s got some honors with utility. Basically, I’ve used Bailey wherever I’ve needed her and that’s why she gets utility. She plays a little second, she plays a little third, she’s played shortstop and outfield. Basically wherever I need her during the season, I’ll bring her from wherever she is.”
McGhee said that Spears is a team leader.
“She comes out here, she gives me 100 percent. Never have to ask her twice to do anything. She works hard. Even if I tell her to pick up a rake to help do the field, she’s the first one on it. Just an outstanding individual person and you don’t see that now. They struggle with responsibilities. She’s had a great upbringing — you can tell,” McGhee said.
