Charlotte Bruns

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Sister Charlotte Bruns was born on March 9, 1951, to the late Clarence Bruns Sr. and Rosa Lee Polk Luter Bruns of Bogalusa.

She was baptized at an early age at Bethlehem Baptist Church and attended with her mother faithfully. Charlotte Bruns graduated from Central Memorial High School in 1969 and from Southern University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After graduation, she joined the U.S. Air Force. After serving her time in the Air Force, she moved to Austin, Texas, which became her home of residence, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service.

Charlotte leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers, Dr. Clinton (Clarette) Bruns of Benicia, Calif., and Andree’ R. (Betty) Powell of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a loving uncle, Jimmie Mondy of Inglewood, Calif.; two other sisters-in-law, Cynthia Bruns and Loreane H. Luter; godsister, Juanita Sue (Howard Sr.) Hall; and many nieces, nephews, her oldest cousin, Doris Brown, and many more cousins.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence (Rosa Lee) Bruns Sr.; sister, Christine Saxton; brothers, Chris Bruns, Clarence Bruns Jr. and Dr. Atwood J. Luter; brother-in-law, Norman Saxton Sr.; grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Services will be conducted at the gravesite, Duffy Memorial Cemetery on Lee’s Creek Road on Saturday, March 30, at 3 p.m. The Rev. Charlie Perkins will be officiating.
