Boxing, Arts and Crafts Sale at RCC
The 2019 Rayburn Correctional Center Louisiana Department of Corrections Terry Wood Memorial “King of Hearts” Boxing Championship and Offender Art and Crafts Sale takes place on Thursday, Feb. 7.
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. with matches beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is paid at the door for $5, cash only, per person.
Proceeds help benefit the Bogalusa Help Center.
Cameras, cellphones and electronic devices are not permitted. Outside food and drinks are not allowed and smoking is not permitted on prison grounds.
Bogalusa Little League registration
The Bogalusa Little League is holding registration for the 2019 baseball season.
Signups take place at the baseball park on Avenue U on Feb. 9 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.
There are four age groups, including T-Ball (4-6), coach pitch (7-8), 9-10 and 11-12.
The cost is $50 per child and $15 for each additional child per family.
You must bring your child’s birth certificate to registration.
Signups can also be done by visiting www.littleleague.org. Registration over the Internet ends on March 30.
Managers and coaches must attend the Feb. 7 meeting at the Avenue U Ballpark at 6 p.m.

City of Bogalusa holding baseball, softball registration
The City of Bogalusa Sports Association is holding baseball and softball signups.
Registration for both sports takes place Saturday, Feb. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Avenue B Sports Complex.
New participants must provide a copy of their birth certificate.
Participants can also sign up on line by visiting http://cityofbogalusa.website.siplay.com.
The final day of online signups is Sunday, Feb. 10.
The skills day takes place Saturday, Feb. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon.
Bogalusa High School football banquet
Bogalusa High School’s football team’s banquet takes place Monday, Feb. 11 in the school’s library at 6 p.m.
The event will have two guest speakers in Southeastern Louisiana University tight ends coach A.J. Hopp and Community Activist/Coach Wilbur Morris.
The event is free and open to the public.
