Mary Davis

Mary A. Davis, a resident of Diamondhead, Miss., and former resident of Bogalusa, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at the age of 85. She was born in Hickory, Miss., on Sept. 21, 1933.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Isom Nathanial Emmons and Myrtle Etta Goolsby Emmons; her sisters, Ora Lea Overstreet, Lucille Varnado, Louise Overstreet, Christine Herd, Ila Mae Mizell and Dorothy Emmons; and her brothers Carl Moody Emmons, Lee Merle Emmons and Edward Dale Emmons.
Ms. Davis is survived by her daughters, Debbie Brann (Charles) of Diamondhead, Beverly Eddy of Live Oak, Fla., and Jacqueline Lang (Jay) of Pittsburg, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Lydia Emmons of Bogalusa; her grandchildren, Teresa Gorbant of Mobile, Ala., Michelle Howard of Live Oak, Jay Rachal of Prairieville, and Jeff Rachal of Baton Rouge; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. until the service time of 11 a.m. The Rev. Greg Whaley officiated and interment was held at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
