Pine’s Raiders will be hitting the road this evening to face Jewel Sumner in a scrimmage that starts at 6 p.m.
Scrimmages are a good way for coaches to evaluate their team.
“The main thing is we want to get through it injury-free, play a good game and eliminate mistakes,” Pine coach Bradley Seal said.
In the scrimmage, the teams will run series of plays beginning at their own 30 and will finish drives that are inside their opponent’s 20.
The scrimmage caps off with a 12-minute quarter with a running clock.
Pine will play in the second game of the Washington Parish Jamboree a week from today against Bogalusa. The jamboree will begin with Franklinton and Varnado starting at 6 p.m.
Pine and Bogalusa will play about 20 minutes after the first game.
