Stanley Laroy Seal went to be with the Lord on Aug. 2, 2018, at 12:37 p.m. He was born on Jan. 16, 1945, and lived his life in Varnado. Loved ones waiting for him in heaven include his mother Elizabeth Pope Seal and father Leroy “Slick” Seal.
Stanley felt blessed to have a big family. He taught them to work hard, help each other, be faithful to God, and always love your mother.
He was married to Linda Thomas Seal, who was his sweetheart for 37 years. He loved Linda perfectly. He often credited her for his long life of health and the good times with their family.
The joy of Stanley’s life was his life was his children and grandchildren. His children are: Dr. Emilie Seal-Rouse and son-in-law Mark, Victoria Seal-Koch and son-in-law Karl, Joshua Seal and daughter-in-law Haley, Dean Seal and daughter-in-law Dana, and Scott Seal and daughter-in-law Julie. His children already deeply miss their hero, whose devotion to them showed in supporting them in their dreams and goals. He kept them grounded with his great sense of humor, wit, and wisdom. He expected a large dose of common sense at least once in a while. They know they had the absolute best daddy in the world.
Stanley’s grandchildren also had the best PaPaw. They will realize what he instilled — his love of country living, knowing God, and celebrating good times as a family. He will continue to be that ever-present compass in their lives. Stanley’s grandchildren are: Addison and Natalie Seal, Connor and Cooper, Cade, Cameron, and Mary Katherine Koch, Heidi and Hillary Seal, Samantha Emerson, and Bennett Seal. The kids loved being at Nana and PaPaw’s house. Watching them growing up at his feet was a great joy to Stanley. PaPaw was king and life at his house was always fun.
His brothers are Washington Parish Sherriff Randy Seal and sister-in-law Shelia, and James Roy Seal (deceased). His sister is Eathel Seal. Also loving and missing Stanley are sisters-in-law Janet Blackwell and brother-in-law Mike (deceased), Tommie Robinson and brother-in-law Grayson, Brother-in-law R. Tim Thomas and sister-in-law Suzie. Stanley’s numerous nieces and nephews were mightily blessed by Uncle Stanley. Uncle Stanley had a story befitting every circumstance ensuring he will never be forgotten. His wit will live in their conversations forever making them laugh — and think.
Stanley was a faithful member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord’s church and was a steadfast influence. He was active throughout his life in the community. Stanley is a member of the Varnado Masonic Lodge 461 F&M, also serving as a past master. He was currently serving as a member of the Varnado Gas Board. He was a past member of the Washington Parish School Board. He graduated William Carey College with a BS in Biology.
Stanley has worked for the Department of Agriculture for over 40 years around south Louisiana, making good friends wherever he went. He also operated Seals Dairy Farm in Varnado. Stanley is well known for the Beagles he raised for field trial, passing along to his children a love of animals. Stanley often felt he was blessed way, way beyond anything he ever felt he deserved.
