Lauresa Watts

Lauresa Stewart Watts, born Aug. 7, 1930, went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2018, at the age of 87.
She was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church in Bush, and also a member of the Louisiana State Department of the Deaf and Blind Association. She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her family.
She is survived by a son, Barry Watts and his wife Cynthia of Bush; a daughter, Glenda Parker and her husband Franklin of Amite; a sister, Lula Mae Pierson of Albany; a sister-in-law, Betty Stewart of Ponchatoula; six grandchildren, Chris Penton, Lisa Freeman, Patricia Thomas and her husband Cole, Merle Hagan, Justin Smith and Nikita Dubois and her husband Michael; seven great-grandchildren, Allen Freeman, Kaitlyn Freeman, Zander Penton, Levi Thomas, K’Shine Smith, K’den Smith and Charley Dubois; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Janie Stewart; her husband, Horace (Pat) Watts; a daughter, Janie Penton; two brothers, Lawrence Stewart and Lemual Stewart; and a sister, Grace Rosata.
Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Monday, June 25, beginning at 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., and resumed after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, until the service time at 10 a.m. The services were conducted by the Rev. Michael Thomas, with the interment following in the Magee Cemetery located in Bush.
