James Willard Keen, 90, passed away June 22, 2018, at his residence in Bogalusa. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by a son, Carlos Keen of Albany; daughters, Lynda Freeman of Bogalusa, Debra (Donald) Bryan of Slidell, Denise (Jackie) Cooper of Bogalusa, and Genise (Titus) Lawrence of Franklinton; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Joy Keen of Bogalusa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ola Kirkland Keen; brothers, Henry and Orice Keen; sisters, Ida Powe, Johnnie Mae Smith, Grace LaBorde, Artelia Easterling, Ophelia Dunaway, Juanita Pounds and Bernice Jones; and grandchildren, Andy Freeman and Laurinda Martin.

Visitation will be in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Saturday, June 23, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sunday, June 24, from 9 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Hillview Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Donald Bryan will officiate.
