Sondra Adams McGehee, born on Feb. 12, 1951, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, at the age of 67. Mrs. McGehee was a resident of Bogalusa.

Walking through Sondra’s flower garden, the beautiful springtime flowers remind us of her nurturing care. She loved the outdoors and loved planting flowers and fruit trees that now adorn her home. Each one was specially chosen and placed into her garden, just like those of us who knew her were into her life. She may be gone, but the seeds that she planted and nurtured in us will live on for future generations to know of her uncomplaining selflessness and determination

She is survived by her husband, Gene McGehee of Bogalusa; her father, James Adams of Isabel; one son, Kevin (Melissa) McGehee of Pace, Fla.; three brothers, Avery (Peggy) Adams of Bartlett, Tenn., John Adams of Isabel, and Robert Paul (Tina) Adams of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Hunter McGehee, Connor McGehee, and Anna McGehee.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Virginia Alice Griffith.

A visitation will be held in the chapel at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa on Friday, March 9, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. in the chapel at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, with interment to follow at McGehee Cemetery.
