Woodie Watson

Mr. Woodie Watson passed away at the age of 66 on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, in Franklinton.

He was a graduate of Franklinton High School and Watson was an outstanding athlete. Woodie played sports for Southern University, University of Arkansas, and the Olympic Team in Germany. He was a supervisor of Housekeeping/Laundry at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Franklinton.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife, Juanita Watson; his son, Woodie Watson; his daughter, Gwennikkia Davis who he raised as his own, all of Franklinton; his sisters, Bess Lynette (Prince) Cockrell of Houston, Texas, Rita (J. W.) Hawthorne of Franklinton; his brothers, Sylvester (Patricia) Johnson of Houston, and Larry (Bron) and Gervis Watson, all of Franklinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Bessie Lee Watson; brothers, Edward (Bird), Lawrence, Hilton, and Donald Watson; and a sister, Brenda Jackson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Outreach Full Gospel Church from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., followed by the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Antwon Graves, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at Sweet Home Church Cemetery.
