Santa Claus ‘comes to town’

Bogalusa City Council members Tamira Smith, Brian McCree, and Doug Ritchie would like to thank the community for the success of the Santa Comes To Town event held Saturday, Dec. 16.
Santa appeared around 1 p.m. on his red fire truck sleigh to hand out the abundance of toys and gifts to the community children. Santa was represented by Damion Moss, attired in a suit donated by Councilwoman Gloria Kates. Sponsors of the event were Washington Parish Sheriff Randy “Country” Seal, J’s Rentals, the Bogalusa Police Department, the Bogalusa Fire Department, Bob Neilson, Gayle’s Jewelers, Washington Parish Men’s Club and Main Street Grocery Store.
Supporters included Debra Morris, Fane Records, VitaLink Home Health, Egan Home Health, Camelia Home Health, Southeast Home Health, Renee Miller, Resthaven Living Center, Family Dollar staff, Bogalusa Mayor Wendy Perrette, State Representative Malinda White, Community Connections, Bethlehem Baptist Church, Oceans Behavioral Health, the Civic League, Brightside Social Services, Main Street Grocery, Walmart, McNabb Games, Beverly Cotton, Keyon Cotton, Lisa Magee, Brenda Bolton,Tracy M, Voncile Weary, Shaquanta Mangrum, Mary Brumfield, Jameka Spikes, the staff of Resthaven Living Center, Andy Hughes and Family, Michelle Randolf, Marie Ishman Daryl Darden, Shannon Flot, Julie Lotts, Martina Jenkins, Marsha Hunt, and Glenda Stevenson.
The event organizers would also like to extend a special thanks to all of Santa’s elves who helped distribute toys to the children.
