Robbie Holmes Neilson passed away on Sept. 12, 2017, at the age of 93, surrounded by her family at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.
Robbie was born in Daisetta, Texas, on Aug. 1, 1924. Robbie (a.k.a. “GiGi”) was beloved by all who had the true blessing of knowing her. A piece of our hearts is lost forever.
She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Sandra Fernandez and spouse, Wm. Terry Fernandez of Orlando, Fla., and son, Robert A. Neilson and spouse, Jan Wade of Bogalusa; granddaughter, Traci Tricoci and spouse Mario Tricoci of Chicago, Ill.; and the loves of her life, her three great-grandsons, Luca, Cristiano and Nico Tricoci.
She is preceded in death by her former husband and soulmate, George Neilson; father, Oscar Holmes (a.k.a. “Pappy”); mother, Ruby Holmes (a.k.a. “Mamma Holmes”); her brothers, Eugene, Maurice, Cecil, and Kenneth Holmes; and her sister, Lois Ledet.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, located at 511 Ave. D in Bogalusa. Funeral Services at First Presbyterian Church will be from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m., with Pastor Jim Stayton officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa.
Active pallbearers will be Wm. Terry Fernandez, Rusty Gilardi, Mario Tricoci Jr., Clerk of Court Johnny Crain Jr., Tate Wade and Mario Tricoci Sr. Honorary pallbearers will be Luca Tricoci, Cristiano Tricoci and Nico Tricoci.
