Gary Magee

Gary Stanley Magee, 65, a resident of Port Allen and former resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was born on Nov. 14, 1951 in Bogalusa. Gary was a veteran and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his mother, Miriam Magee Mann of Longmont, Colo.; three sisters, Gail Rene Magee of Breaux Bridge, Connie Deen Masson and husband Bob of Frederick, Colo., and Sandy Kay Magee of The Colony, Texas; and numerous nieces, great-nieces, and a great-nephew.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Stanley Magee.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church, 541 Ave. F in Bogalusa, on Saturday, Sept. 2, from noon until 2 p.m., with the Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery, with full military graveside services by the Magic City American Legion Post #24. After the services, there will be a family gathering for friends at the home of Mrs. Barbara Varnado, #8 Silvert Main Place in Bogalusa, for two hours.
Relatives of the family are invited to join them before the visitation for lunch at the church at 11 a.m. until noon.
