Larry James Burris Sr. was born Nov. 13, 1943 in Clifton, to the late George Burris and Margie Mae Burris. He departed this life on March 19, 2017 at Acadiana Management Group in Mandeville.

Larry was a construction worker and was self-employed.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Brenda Hart Burris of Franklinton; two sons, Ricky (Angie) Burris of Mansfield, Texas and Larry (Latasha) Burris Jr., of Franklinton; two loving and devoted daughters, Jacqueline Burris Jones of Franklinton, and Tracy Burris of Grand Prairie, Texas; and one brother, Gentris (Evelyn) Burris of Amite.

He is preceded in death by his son, Reginald D. Burris Sr.; father, George Burris; mother, Margie Burris; his brothers, O’Neal Burris, Anderson Burris and Tyrone Burris; and his sisters, Leida White, Bessie Littleton and Renella Hendreson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness.

The funeral service will be held at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness on Saturday, March 25, at 1 p.m., with Elder Washington Drake officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Church Cemetery in Franklinton.
