Hubert Rester

Hubert Rester, 87, passed away Dec. 8, 2016 at his residence in Bogalusa.

He retired from Holsom Bread Company after 33 years. Hubert was a member of True Light Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for 45 years. He also served his country in the U.S. Marine Air Casual Squadron Eleven.

He is survived by his wife, Willa F. Rester; son, Charles Ray Rester (Tammy) of Bogalusa; daughters, Brenda Miller (Jerry) of Thomas and Debbie Rester of Pine; stepdaughter, Willethia Goings of Isabel; brothers, Raymond Rester of White Sands Miss., Richard Rester of Bogalusa and Ray Rester of Bogalusa; sisters, Jeanette Polezack of Albany, Jan Creel of Bogalusa, Diane Sanders of Bogalusa and Tammy Creel of Bogalusa; eight grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a stepson, Johnny Spears; parents, Thomas Arthur and Bertha Jenkins Rester; and brothers, David Rester, Tommy Rester and Jerry Rester.

Visitation was held in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation continued Sunday, Dec. 11, from 8 a.m. until time for the service in the chapel at 2 p.m. Burial was at New Beginnings Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomas. Brother Keith Branch officiated.
