This is truly a great week to celebrate everything that makes us American.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to perform our civic duty by participating in our country’s national elections. Although we did not know the winner by press time, we hope that our community can come together and unite behind our next president.

We also hope that our new elected officials in city and state races will work together to make our communities better for all people, and not just a chosen few.

And this Friday, we celebrate Veterans Day. Again, it is quite fitting that this commemoration would come so soon after our Election Day. It is only due to the sacrifice of our veterans and veterans throughout history, that we even have the chance to participate in a free republic.

Support our veterans this Friday and thank them for their service.

It’s because of them that we are still the land of the free, and the home of the brave. God bless America.
