Richard “R.A.” Arlin Mizell, 80, born in Isabel on Feb. 21, 1936, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at his home in Franklinton.
He was a member of Isabel Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Brian (Julie) Mizell and Kevin Boyce Mizell Sr., both of Isabel; one sister, Joann Mizell of Isabel; one brother, Buford (Martha) Mizell of Franklinton; six grandchildren, Tommy (Ana) Mizell, Elisabeth Grace Mizell, Kevin Mizell, Jr., Kelsey Mizell, Katie Mizell, and Jasmine Oliver; and one great-grandchild, Emmie Mae “Mae Mae” Mizell.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Josie “Jo” Warren Mizell; and by his parents, Willie and Beatrice Mizell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home chapel from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jeremy Greer and Dr. Stan Statham officiating.
Interment will follow at Mizell Cemetery with full military honors by the Magic City American Legion Post #24.
