Anthony Todd Myles made his debut into this world on Oct. 18, 1969, in Los Angeles, Calif., to the proud parents of Jerry Myles Sr. and Sherrielyn Magee. He was the second of four sons born to the couple.

Tony, as he was affectionally called, was enrolled in the Compton School District at age 6. During that year, he moved to Bogalusa with his mother and brothers, and enrolled in the Bogalusa City Schools. He completed the 11th grade and joined the Job Corps, where he earned his GED and a bricklayer’s certificate. He also attended Louisiana Technical College and earned a welder’s certificate.

After moving to Bogalusa, his mother married Jesse Dillon (stepfather), who had a great influence on his life. He taught him to hunt wild game and to fish. Tony loved the outdoors. He also loved to cook and was a great cook — grilling and cooking for his kids.

Tony’s work history included working as a laborer in numerous jobs: offshore, a welder, at Discount Tire, the Bogalusa School Board, and Joe Miles Lumber Mill.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children whom he loved and adored, Kenton Elijah Myles and Tonika Ayana Myles; his mother, Sherrielyn Dillon of Tomball, Texas; three brothers, Jerry (Lorna) Myles Jr. of Carson, Calif., Derrick (Tiesha) Myles of Bogalusa and stepbrother, Charles (Tara) Taylor of Bogalusa; nephews, Brandon and Christopher Myles of Carson, and Marlon Myles of Bogalusa; nieces, Morgan Myles of Carson and Mariah Myles of Bogalusa; uncles, Glennis (Brenda) Magee and Wayne Magee, of Houston, Texas, Darrell Magee of Bogalusa, Larry Myles of Chicago, Ill., and Morris Myles of Rochester, N.Y.; aunts, Patricia (Silky) King, Martha Bridges and Virginia(Dewey) Perkins, all of Rochester, and Delia (Jimmy) Morris of Las Vegas, Nev.; numerous cousins and friends and a special friend, Yolanda Harry.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Myles Sr.; stepfather, Jesse Dillon; brother, Sean B. Myles; grandparents, G.W and Cloteal Magee and John and Leehood Myles; and uncles, Charles Magee and Charles Myles.

Viewing will be Sunday, May 15, with wake from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Christ Way Ministry Church with Pastor Michael O’Ree.
