A shoplifting at Walmart on Tuesday evening resulted in a high-speed chase into Mississippi.

The Bogalusa Police Department arrested two people on a variety of charges, including at least two felonies.

Police arrested Glenn Goss, 55, and Mary Goss, 45, after they fled Walmart and led police on a chase throughout town with speeds reaching up to 100 mph, according to police reports.

The Gosses, who gave a Franklinton address, were apprehended on Highway 10 near Poplarville, Miss. Their GMC pickup truck was stopped at Wheats Roofing Crossing, approximately four miles over the Mississippi state line. They were arrested and handed over to Pearl River County authorities.

Bogalusa Police Chief Joe Culpepper said Glenn Goss was the driver of the pickup. He was charged with aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway, which are both felonies.

He was also charged with principal to theft of goods under $500, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, three counts of aggravated assault using a motor vehicle of a police officer, two counts resisting a police officer and speeding. Culpepper said officers were forced to use a stun gun on him, in order to remove him from the vehicle.

Culpepper said Mary Goss was charged with theft of goods under $500. He said she also had a warrant out of Illinois.

“Our officer arrived just as they were leaving the store,” Culpepper said. “We already had two people out in the area working seat belt detail, so they were close by, so three officers responded.”
