The sweet Angel of Mercy moved in quietly on Wednesday evening, Sept. 23, 2015, and bore the spirit of Jim Barnes away.

Cherishing his memory are his loving and devoted son, Mark L. Barnes of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Marvine  A. Branham of Seattle, Wash., and Mona B. Anderson (Edwin) of Los Angeles, Calif.; three brothers, Bobbie Barnes of Seattle, Phill K. Barnes (Louise) and John Barnes, both of Franklinton; two aunts, Joyce Hayden and Edith Dyson of San Francisco, Calif.; one uncle, Theodore Henry Watson Jr. of Houston, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mae H. Barnes of Franklinton, Cornelia Barnes Brossette of Baton Rouge,  Anita M. Warner and Mary M. Warner, both of Houston,  Helen M. Warner  of Jackson, Miss., and a devoted sister-in-law and caregiver, Faye Warner Crump of Bogalusa; brothers-in-law, Dr. Charles E. Warner of New Haven, Conn., Robert S. Warner (Linda) of Ponchatoula, William O. Warner (Evata) of Hammond, Aubrey C. Warner (Janice) and Albert Warner, both of Houston, and Darrell W. Warner (Glenda) of League City, Texas; loving and devoted caregivers, Kimberly S. and Walter Hooks of Bogalusa; and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Oree Warner Barnes; parents, Marvin and Julia Mae Watson Barnes; infant son, James Barnes; brother, Billy Ray Barnes; and sisters, Dorothy Elaine Cornist and Mary Gail Gethers.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 2, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 3, at 2 p.m., at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness in Franklinton. Elder Washington Drake will be the host church pastor, and the Rev. Mack C. Hurst will officiate. Internment will be in Bogalusa Cemetery.
