Grace Nickson

Grace Jean Nickson, 83, departed this life Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, in Franklinton at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.

She was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Tylertown, Miss., to the late James Dillon and Myrtis Harvey Dillon.

She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Theodore Gatlin of Franklinton; five grandchildren, Keith Gatlin of Baton Rouge, Semone Gatlin of Woodville, Miss., Reginald Gatlin of New Orleans, Yolanda Mercadel of St. Francis Ville, and Albert Gatlin of Ft. Seal, Alaska; three great-grandchildren, Kira, Shaii and Devon Gatlin; three sisters, Edora Burris of Chicago, Francis Smith of Franklinton, and Mable Lane of Baton Rouge; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Nickson; three brothers, Velester, Odell and James E. Dillon; two sisters, Ella Mae Burrell and Johnnie Mae Causey; and one grandson, Theodore Gatlin Jr.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. until noon with the funeral service to follow for noon at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton. Interment will be held in St. James Cemetery in Franklinton.
