Jackie Richardson, age 87, born on April 4, 1928, in Franklinton, a former resident of Bogalusa, died on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at her residence in Covington.

Jackie graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1945. She attended LSU and received her masters from Southeastern Louisiana University. She taught in Bogalusa City Schools for 31 years and retired in 1986. She was president and an active member of many educational and church organizations.

She is survived by two daughters, Vicki (Gary) Lewis of Mt. Hermon and Becky (Francis Terry) Williams of Rowlett, Texas; one son, Bill (Toni) Richardson of Mobile, Ala.; five grandchildren, Kelley Richardson, Ryan Williams, Travis Williams, William (Yetta) Lewis and Jordan Lewis; and two great-grandchildren, Mina Lewis and Victor Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Richardson; one grandchild, Meagan Lewis; and her parents, Orda Wood McKenzie and Victor H. McKenzie.

There will be a graveside service on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. in Ponemah Cemetery with the Rev. Bryon Putnam officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elizabeth Sullivan United Methodist Church in Bogalusa.
