Horace “Zip” Adna Hayden Jr., 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Borden Hayden; daughters, Suzi Hayden Sibley of Slidell and Terri Hayden Coxe of Bogalusa; sons, Horace “Hap” Adna Hayden III (Julie) of Bogalusa and Hugh Alan Hayden of Madisonville; seven grandchildren, Jay (Lauren) Coxe, John (Jordan) Sibley, Ross Coxe, Lana (Daniel) Leonard, Horace “Hayes” Adna Hayden IV, Mary Margaret Hayden and Owen Hayden; and five great-grandchildren, Ellie and Luke Leonard, Emma Sibley, Lily Coxe and Thomas Coxe.

He was a prominent local businessman, founder of Delta Printing Company Inc. and Hay-Wal Farms and other business interests. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge  No. 244, Jerusalem Shriners, founding member and director of Magic City Carnival Association, 1947 Bogalusa High School state championship football team and Gaylord Baseball Team. He was a retired captain of the National Guard.

Visitation was held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will be continuing Wednesday at 11 a.m. until services at 1 p.m. The interment will follow in the Hillview Memorial Gardens.
