Brother Alex Ray Peters was born to Jeffie Dee Brown Peters and the late Alex Peters of Angie. He departed this life on July 16, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Franklin Peters; his father, Alex Peters; and two brothers, Kelly Peters and Edward Tuggle Jr.

He leaves to cherish loving memories a goddaughter, Martha Faye Peters; a godgrandson, Devin Cotton; his mother, Jeffie Dee Peters; his twin sister, Alice Faye (Willie) Alexander; five more sisters, Penny Sue (Earl) Jackson of Sumrall, Miss., Flora Jean (Thomas) Ezell and Demetra Warren, both of Columbia, Miss., and Julie Ann Peters Herron of Gastonia, N.C.; one very special sister, LaHa Price (Wayne) Herring of Sandy Hook, Miss; six brothers, Ronald Peters, Donell (Sabrina) Peters of Angie, Burnell Peters, James (Ann) Brown of Bogalusa, Johnny (Sherry) Mikell of Columbia and the Rev. Charles Magee of Baton Rouge; a special brother-in-law, Willie Ray Alexander of Moss Point, Miss.; two aunts, Jessie Mae Magee and Ova Lee Peters, both of Angie; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The homegoing celebration of Alex Ray Peters will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 at noon at Smith Funeral Home at 519 Owens St. in Columbia, Miss., with the Rev. Archie McGowan, pastor, and officiating
