In May 2015, David Peek, 54, a resident of Turkey Ridge Road in Mount Hermon was arrested by the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of aggravated rape and sexual battery. He has remained in jail since that time.

On July 6, Peek was arrested on additional charges. In addition to aggravated rape and sexual battery, he now faces 71 counts of pornography involving juveniles. Peek’s bond was set at $660,000.

Peek’s female victims ranged in age from 3 to 12 years old. Because of privacy concerns for the juvenile victims, additional details of Peek’s crime will not be revealed.

“This entire matter is despicable and lacks a rational explanation,” Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal said. “It seems obvious that Mr. Peek not only is a sexual predator but also poses a threat to the community. He is in jail where he belongs. I am grateful to our detective division for the excellent work they have done on this case. If any person has knowledge of the sexual or physical abuse of any child in Washington Parish, please call the Sheriff’s Office at 839-3434 and let us know. We will take action.”

Seal warned sexual predators.

“Let this be a warning to sexual predators. If you violate our children, we will come after you, we will find you, and we will put you in jail,” Seal said. “My policy since taking office has been to take swift action against those who abuse our children and that is exactly what we will continue to do.”
