Brenda Thomas Hartzog, a resident of Angie, died on Friday, June 26, 2015, at the age of 63. A native of Pine and former resident of Baton Rouge, Ms. Hartzog was a retired nurse who took great pride in caring for her family, friends and community. She found joy in life through laughing, sharing stories, listening to music, gardening and spending time outdoors.
Ms. Hartzog is survived by daughter and son-in-law, April and Jay Franck of Asheville, N.C., expecting Ms. Hartzog’s first grandchild; son, Cole Hartzog of Baton Rouge; brothers, Donnie Ray Thomas of Pine and Ben Thomas of Thibodeaux; two nieces; nine nephews; several great-nieces; great-nephews; devoted friend, Ann Riley; companion, Randall Harrison; and numerous other friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by husband, Gary Hartzog; parents, Ruffin and Kathleen (Martin) Thomas; and brother, Hardy Thomas.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the L&L Hunting Club in Angie.
