Betty Hardee

Betty Jo Stogner Holmes Hardee, age 82 and a resident of Bogalusa, went to be with our Lord on Friday evening, July 3, at Our Lady of Angels Hospital.

Ms. Hardee was a member of Monroe Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louie Wesley Holmes of Tylertown; her second husband, Howard Glenn Hardee Sr. of Bogalusa; an infant son, Louie Wesley Holmes Jr.; brothers, Advil Stogner, Nelson Stogner and W.S. Stogner; and sisters, Ollie Mae Stogner Poarch, Pearl Stogner Freeman and Ruth Stogner Burkett.

She is survived by a sister, Leona Stogner Sumrall of Dexter, Miss.; son, Michael (Dianne Lindsey) Holmes of Beaumont, Texas; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Holmes (Walter) May of Tylertown, Sherry Lou Holmes (George) Jenkins of Franklinton and Joanna Holmes (Darron) Thomas of Bogalusa; Steve Hardee (fiance Brenda Long) of Hammond; grandchildren, John Michael (Angela) Holmes, Leigh Ann Holmes (Matt) Majors, Adam Jenkins, Heidi O’Bryant (Edward) May, Yancy Dale (Pam) O’Bryant, Heather Lynn O’Bryant (Joshua) LeFort, Derek Matthew (Alissa Taylor) Thomas, Trevor Michael Thomas and Dodie (Blake) Hunt; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held at Monroe Street Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral services were held at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Chad Jenkins and Darron Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.

The pallbearers will be Derek Thomas, Trevor Thomas, Adam Jenkins, Tracy Sumrall, Yancy O’Bryant and Edward May, and the honorary pallbearers are Todd Sumrall and Tory Sumrall.
