Shirley Magee

Shirley Ruth Magee was born March 18, 1960, in Bogalusa to Mrs. Lizzie Ruth Magee and the late Robert Daniel Magee.

She attended and graduated from Bogalusa High School in 1982. After high school, Shirley continued her education at Sullivan Vocational Technical College in Bogalusa. She was employed for the Social Service Department for many years in Bogalusa. Afterward she was employed for the Washington-St. Tammany Regional Medical Center as a certified nursing assistant, where she was a longtime employee. She was very dedicated to her job, and she received many awards and certificates for best employee of the year. She loved her job wherever she was employed. She was dedicated to her job. She accomplished many things. Shirley was a very loving person, anyway she could help anyone, she would.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memories her devoted mother, Mrs. Lizzie Ruth Magee; three sisters, Linda K. Magee of Bogalusa, Gladys Magee of Georgia and Minister Lvee Berry of Bogalusa; brothers, Charles Edward (Irma) Magee and Robert D. (Fannie) Magee Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Daniel Mcgee; her sister, Rosie Mary Magee; and a niece, Monique M. Crook.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Raymond Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Sweet Valley Cemetery in Hub, Miss.
