During a search after a June 7 visit at Rayburn Correctional Center, offender Jarrell Payton was found to have 30 Suboxone strips, a Schedule III drug. The strips were found in a small cut in the zipper of his jeans.

His visitor on that date was Katie Givens, who is listed as his girlfriend. On June 15, RCC’s investigator, with the assistance of Slidell Police Department, arrested Givens at her home and transported her back to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, where she was charged with introduction of contraband into a penal facility and distribution of a Schedule III narcotic. The charges could carry up to 15 years in prison.

“We have a zero tolerance policy on possession of drugs or other contraband at this facility,” RCC Warden Sandy McCain said. “Unfortunately, visitors are very often a source of those items, so we have to keep a close eye on their activities while they are here. If you bring contraband into this facility you will be caught, arrested and prosecuted.”
