Sharon Ann Lewis Peters was born on Oct. 31, 1959, to Ruth H. Lewis and the late Oscar Lee Moses and was adopted by the late Leon Lewis.
At an early age, Sharon joined the Sweet Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. M. K. Duncan. Later in life she united in holy matrimony to Jessie Ray Peters.
Sharon leaves to cherish her loving memories, her husband, Mr. Jessie Ray Peters; one son, Leonard Jermaine Lewis; her mother, Ruth H Lewis; one granddaughter, Tyinsha Newkirk of Angie; one grandson, Kenneth Wayne Flock’e of Abita Springs; one great-granddaughter, Tyrionna Newkirk of Angie; brothers, Oscar (Susan) Lewis of Coppas Cove, Texas, Ronald (Regina) Lewis of Bogalusa, Leon Earl (Jessica) Lewis, Donald Lewis of Bogalusa, Gilbert Moses of Varnado, Malcom (Donice) Moses of Bogalusa and Raymond Baker of Amite; step-children, Eric Butler of Oklahoma, Edwin Butler, Tamika Perkins, Patrica, Jessie, Ray Hardiman of Akion, Ohio, Dameko, Micheal and Ada Hardiman of Angie.
Sharon also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father; stepfather; brother, Kenneth Wayne Lewis; grandparents; and mother-in-law.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., with family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Stanley Nathaniel officiating. Interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery.
