“People are watching you and everything you do matters,” said Marvin Larry Cook, as he addressed five young people receiving the Honesty and Integrity Award from Pine Lodge No. 246, F&AM.

Cook, grand lecturer of the 14th Masonic District, told the young people they have the opportunity to be leaders and help people. He said they should “be kind to people and be willing to help anyone.

“We all make mistakes but we need to learn from them. If you don’t feel good about something in your heart, don’t do it. This lodge has honored you and people have come together to support you,” was among statements he made during the talk to honorees, their parents, other guests and members of Pine lodge.

Cook shook hands with each of the honorees and asked their families to stand, and they were also recognized. He asked questions of each of the honorees about their plans for the future and challenged them to make their parents proud.

Those honored by the lodge included Matthew Pierce, Brandon Jones, Michaela Statham, Catherine Blackwell and Jessica Parker. They were each presented the Honesty and Integrity Award by Pine Worshipful Master Will Hebert following the reading of their accomplishments by Roger Hendrix, past district deputy grand master of the 14th Masonic District.

Prior to the program a meal was hosted by the lodge for those attending the annual program honoring young people.
