Charlie Passman

Charlie W. Passman, age 86 and a resident of Franklinton, died at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Riverside Medical Center. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War and attended Lawrence Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Charlie was a longtime grader-machine operator for the Washington Parish Police Jury and later retired as a supervisor. He enjoyed traveling with his family often to the mountains and loved watching old Western movies. Charlie always liked relaxing on the porch for his afternoon coffee.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Inez Cooper Passman of Franklinton; daughter and son in law, Mary and Greg Crain of Franklinton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles W. Passman and Sue Passman and Calvin Mike Adams, all of Franklinton; brother-in-law, John Garner of Roseland; six grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Kathy Crain, Brandy Crain Graves and Caleb Graves, Ashley Crain, Jessica and Steve Segesman, April Ducote and Jeremy Adams; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Passman and Mamie Warren Passman; two brothers, Daniel Passman and Jimmy Passman; and two sisters, Iris Jenkins and Sharon Garner.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home on Sunday, April 12, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Monday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Duane Ball, Eld. Don Jacobs and Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek.

Pallbearers include Mark Crain, Steve Segesman, Mike Adams, Durwood Jenkins, Jimmy D. Passman and Wayne Rawls.
