Freddie Stringfield

Freddie Fussell Stringfield, age 89 and a resident of Franklinton, died at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She was born April 14, 1925.

She was a member of Fisher United Methodist Church. She worked as a LPN for Riverside Medical Center and then later at Lallie Kemp Hospital. She enjoyed fishing and swimming. Freddie taught swimming lessons to many in her neighborhood. She liked taking care of her yard and her many pets of dogs and cats.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Stringfield of Franklinton; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Stringfield; her parents, Marvin Fussell and Evie Sylvest Fussell; and two brothers, Rankin Fussell and Guy Fussell.

Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Crain Funeral Home, with a funeral service to be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Percy Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in the Fisher Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kyle Magee, Community Care Hospice, Good Samaritan Nursing Home and Riverside Medical Center for the care shown to their loved one.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Riverside Medical Center Foundation.

The pallbearers are Ben Jones, Robert Stafford, Tim Crowe, Bob Meier, Charles Powell and Ben Lott.
