Toni M. Cooper

Toni Lynn Martinez Cooper, age 55 and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died Friday evening Feb. 6, 2015, at Riverside Medical Center.

She was a native of New Orleans that had lived in Washington Parish since 1998. Toni enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She enjoyed listening to her favorite music and had a special friend in her pet Yorkie, Gizmo. Toni was always a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family and cherished their time spent together.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Barry Cooper Sr. of Mt. Hermon; her daughter, Megan Cooper of Baton Rouge; four sons and daughters-in-law, John Cooper of New Orleans, Daniel and Andrea Cooper of Mandeville, Ryan and Stephanie Cooper of Franklinton and Barry Cooper Jr. and Amber Cooper of Mt. Hermon; eight grandchildren, Scott, McKenzie, Cain, Anthony, Hailey, Bradley, Isabella and Aubrey; mother and stepfather, Laura and Joe Allelo of Mt. Hermon; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Kim Martinez of Ponchatoula; sister, Lillian Hennessey of Terrytown; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harvey and Rose Cooper of Waveland, Miss.; brothers-in-law, Garry Cooper, Harvey Cooper III, Brent Cooper and Kent Cooper; sisters-in-law, Kim Johnson, Sherry Siegert, Dori Cooper and Gina Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Curtis Cooper; father, Vernon “Concrete” Martinez; brothers, David Martinez and Glen Martinez; mother-in-law, June Fisher Cooper; and brother-in-law, Mike Hennessey.

Visitation will be at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church (41088 Louisiana Highway 438, Mt. Hermon) on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Joe Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
